Robert "John" Hadfield was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 9, 1969. In 1977 his family moved to Littleton, Colorado. He attended Peabody Elementary School, Isaac Newton Jr. High School and graduated from Arapahoe High School.

John was an active Boy Scout and earned the rank of Eagle by the age of 14.

He started his own business in High School as a disc jockey for dances. During the summers John also worked on a landscaping crew.

At 19 he went to Chicago on a mission for his church. While in Chicago he served in various leadership positions that gave him the opportunity to travel around the Chicago area speaking to various groups.

After returning from Chicago, John met a beautiful young woman named Paige. They were married shortly thereafter and they remain together to this day.

John helped pay for his college education by working in a convenience store and playing in a rock band. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor's degree in Advertising in 1994. After graduation, he spent several years pursuing a career as a professional musician.

During the 90's John worked as a professional singer and guitarist for two different bands. He traveled throughout several states performing for thousands of people. He recorded dozens of songs, released a CD, wrote songs for two TV movies, and even appeared in one. John also spent thousands of hours in recording studios and became an expert audio engineer and music producer.

It didn't take long before he and his wife had four kids. John realized, reluctantly, that it was time to hang up the rock star aspirations and get a job. He entered the business world and spent 5 years working for two different companies. During this period he became an expert videographer, web designer, and marketing consultant.

In 2002 he left the corporate world to start his own business. Today he works as a web designer, video and audio production specialist and search engine optimization consultant.

Since 2003 John has also worked periodically as an adjunct instructor at Front Range Community College and the Community College of Denver.

John travels periodically as a speaker for an organization called Especially for Youth. He gives presentations to teenage groups about values, commitment, and keeping a proper focus in life.

In 2005 he started a semi-annual event called the Woodglen Jam Session. At this event he, and several other volunteers, provide a forum for kids, teens and adults to get together and play music in a positive environment. John uses this event not only to teach people how to play music, but also to help kids understand the importance of staying away from drugs. The event is completely free and open to the public. Learn more about the Jam sessions here.

Today John and his wife have 4 children ranging from age 8 to 17. Each of their children goes to public school. The three girls are heavily involved with theater in school and in the Northglenn Youth Theater. Their son isn't interested in theater, but he loves reading and playing games with his mom and dad.

Over the years John has also spent a great deal of time in leadership and teaching positions in his church. This has included being a volunteer teacher for an early-morning class for teens 5 days a week for nearly 4 years. He has also been an athletics coach for the YMCA. And every Christmas you will see him at Mt Saint Vincent's Children's home playing his ukulele and singing with the kids. (That's right, John is not afraid to say the word "Christmas")

In 2008 he accepted a nomination to run for the Colorado State Senate. John is running for the District 25 seat. The result of this effort will be decided in the general election in November 2008.
